Roland Garros (French Open Tennis) Betting Statistics
Here are some stats that I dug up on last 4 years French Open. Now before I give them to you let me explain what they mean.
I thought we’d have a look at how the favourites fared over the tournament. Now the odds I’ve used are the odds at which the
highest amount of money was matched on Betfair. So if a player had 12000 matched at 1.40, 10000 matched at 1.42 and 8000 matched at 1.38, I’ve used 1.4 in my calculations.
What does this mean? It means that you should have had a very good chance of getting these odds. So here we go:
Here is the table (performance of favourites):
PR Return Winners Losers SR Profit Profit %
<1.1 55 53 4 93% -2 -4%
1.1-1.2 52.82 46 10 82% -3.18 -6%
1.2-1.3 28.9 24 7 77% -2.1 -7%
1.3-1.4 32.92 25 16 61% -8.08 -20%
1.4-1.6 59.4 42 10 81% 7.4 14%
1.6-1.8 17.92 13 17 43% -12.08 -40%
Totals 246.96 203 64 76% -20.04 -8%
PR= Price Range (This is the Bookmakers price range NOT Betfairs)
Return= How much you would have got back if you placed 1 pound on each
Winners = Winners ![]()
Losers = Losers ![]()
SR = Strike Rate of for winners
Profit = Profit backing each for 1 pound
Profit% = % Return on the money you invested
I think this emphasizes the need for a good consistent system.
I will be sending out another set of stats on Saturday, looking at favourites from another angle.
Let now have a look at how the main system in my book fared on the first two days of the French Open:
Match Result
Gaudio vs Gicquel Won
Becker vs Montcourt Won
Vicente vs Safin Won
Minar vs Starace Won
Roitman vs Robredo Won
Galvani vs Davydenko Won
A 100% record ! Not bad, I think you must agree. There is still time
to join us in time for the French Open:
